I have been an active member of the Star Trek community since 2023 and watched Star Trek way before that. I have a lot of Star Trek OC’s that are featured on my sideblog: TheNextGalaxy.This is my first ever zine that I’m organizing and I hope to see this project to the end.relevant experience:

What is a zine?
A zine is a collection of writing and art around a specific theme or topic collected in a book format. It’s a collaborative project where many creators make a piece of work specifically for the zine.Will this zine be digital or physical?
This zine will be digital only! with possibly digital merch.What is the theme?
The theme is Star trek OCs! Anybody with at least one original character based on the Star Trek universe will be able to join. contributors will be asked to showcase their OCs in any way they like.How old do I need to be to apply?
All contributors must be 18 or up by the end of the application period.
Will this zine contain spoilers?
Yes, but any recent (less than half a year) content will be asked to add a spoiler warning.Can I submit for multiple roles?
Unlike different zines I don’t make the distinction between writers or artists. In this way you are free to make anything you think is best to tell your story.How many contributors will you be accepting?
Right now I am planning to accept everybody, but since I am the only mod it can get tricky with a lot of people. After the interest check I will have a clearer look and will evaluate what I can handle and if I need extra help. This will be clearly communicated on all platforms.Will joining a Discord server be a requirement for contributing to the zine?
While I highly encourage you to use discord for communication, I'm not putting a strict requirement on it. All important information will also be emailed to all contributors regardless if they use discord or not. I understand that discord might not be the ideal communication type for all and I will be including an option for contributors to communicate via mail.all of my social links are NSFW, am I still allowed to link them with the zine?
Yes, under the condition that all of the links have a proper and clear warning and the submission stays within the guidelines.I had a quick question: are we permitted to make artworks/pieces of self-insert OCs as well?
Yes, self-inserts are permitted in the zine! They can be treated like any other OC or you can talk about yourself and how that relates to the work if you feel comfortable doing that. This zine is focused on original works and ideas relating to the Star Trek universe. Which includes personal experiences and unique perspectives.Your question isn’t here?

Contributor Information
No AI use
AI use in any way in the creation process (this includes ‘idea generation’) will get you kicked out. This zine is meant to support human creation and interpretation and AI use goes against the idea of the zine.Kindness
Harassment and bigotry will not be tolerated of any kind. This is a community project and requires a safe space for all, all people will be treated with kindness. Any person who goes against this principle will be removed from the project.Age requirement
For this zine you have to be 18 years or up, this is because I can’t guarantee a safe environment specifically for minors and it would be irresponsible to still include minors despite that.Zine specs
The zine will be digital. A single page will be A5 (300dpi) and a spread will be A4 (300dpi)Submissions
All submissions must be original and created by you, plagiarism is not allowed and AI use is not allowed. At least one of the submitted work must be created for the zine and has to fit at least one page.All submissions must fit the theme, in this case all submissions must feature at least one original character based on the Star Trek universe. Submissions can be a mix of art, writing and concepts.Every contributor gets at least 2 pages (a spread) to tell their story and showcase their work. I can help with the layout but I advise you if you want help to submit the final work before the final deadline.What is allowed
Any media that fits in an interactive pdf is allowed. This includes but is not limited to: digital art, writing, traditional art, Cosplay and collage work. Animation and Music is a little harder but I can look at it if it is possible to include it.This zine will be pg-13, so explicit NSFW is not allowed. Mild violence and non-sexual nudity* are allowed. My general rule is if it happened in one of the Star Trek series I’m allowing it.*Nudity must be illustrated and can be censored depending on the TOS of various platforms.
